According to radiologist Dr Saba Jamil, Dua Zahra’s ossification test on Tuesday indicated that she is between 16 and 17 years old.
Dua, a 14-year-old girl who inexplicably vanished from Karachi in April but subsequently claimed to have ran away from home to marry Zaheer Ahmed, 21, was produced before the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday.
However, Dua’s father, Mehdi Kazmi, has voiced misgivings about his daughter’s medical report, calling it “fake.”
In this respect, Kazmi submitted a letter to the health secretary, requesting that his daughter undergo another medical examination in the presence of her parents. He also sought the formation of a medical board to certify Dua age.
He said that individuals responsible for the false medical tests and reports should be prosecuted.
“We have all of Dua’s birth certificates, and her birthday is April 27, 2008. We were not permitted to see our daughter, and the detectives are debating whether or not to run a DNA test “He went on to say.
The SHC had ordered that Dua be tested to ascertain her true age and that she be brought back before the court on June 8.
Dua was apprehended by police on Sunday in the Chishtian neighborhood of Bahawalnagar after 1.5 months away from her Karachi residence.
SSP Zubair Nazir Sheikh of the Anti-Violent Crime Cell confirmed the story, saying Dua and her husband had been put into protective custody. The pair was apprehended by CIA officers at a lawyer’s home.
Dua’s family had filed a complaint on her kidnapping on April 16, however, she subsequently declared on the internet that she had married Zaheer.
