ISLAMABAD: The price of petroleum products in the nation would stay stable for the first half of next month, according to Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again decided against the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority’s (OGRA) recommendation to raise petroleum product prices, according to a statement released by the information minister.
People’s suffering, according to Aurangzeb, was caused by the previous government’s “incompetence and significant blunders.”
“To acquire a loan from the IMF, former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s administration accepted onerous conditions established by the International Monitory Fund in terms of boosting petroleum product prices,” Aurangzeb added.
The communications minister said that the administration is making every effort to avoid putting more strain on individuals who are already dealing with rising inflation.
Miftah Ismail, Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue earlier this week that the price of petroleum goods will not be hiked “immediately.”
