In the wake of the latest SKIMS photoshoot claims, model and TV personality Tyra Banks stepped out in favour of her colleague and fashion entrepreneur Kim Kardashian.
During an appearance with the Today programme earlier this week, Banks, 48, refuted charges made by netizens that Kim’s current SKIMS advertisement photo-shopped Banks’ figure to make her seem smaller.
“This is something I’ve been talking about for decades,” the Dancing With The Stars presenter added. So, with this campaign, me curvier, me [expletive] nearing 50 years old — I think it’s really powerful.”
Banks also expressed appreciation to Kardashian for persuading her to return from retirement for the campaign. “She said that this gave her body self-esteem. So we had a serious discussion, and then I eventually said, ‘Let’s do this!'”
“We just had an honest heart-to-heart talk,” Kardashian, 41, said, “and she got to hear what the brand stands for, why I established the company, and I’m just all about supporting women.”
Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Candice Swanepoel were also featured in SKIMS’ new ‘Icons’ campaign. The designer tag has yet to respond to the Photoshop charges publicly.
