Telecoms companies increase prices of call and data package

Cellular mobile companies have raised the prices of call and internet packages again , blaming the rise in inflation.

Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited (Ufone), Jazz, and Telenor all raised the prices of various deals and data packages.

Jazz notified its consumers of the price increase, citing inflation and the rising cost of doing business. According to the firm, the weekly YouTube & Social rate has been increased from Rs. 115 to Rs. 120, effective June 23. With effect from June 23, the pricing for the weekly WhatsApp offer has been increased from Rs. 21 to Rs. 23.

With just one day’s notice, Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited (Ufone) hiked the prices of call and data packages, claiming inflation as the primary cause.

In a statement to clients, the firm said that the price increase was required to maintain service quality owing to the rise in inflation. According to the updated tariffs, the price of UPower would be increased from Rs. 100 to Rs. 120. The price increase, however, comes with extra resources in the form of 1,000 SMS in the All In One, Variant beginning June 29, 2022.

With effect from June 29, 2022, the price of Super Card Plus, which is now accessible for Rs. 649, has been raised higher to Rs. 699 with no extra resources.

Super Card Gold’s current price is Rs. 999, which is being raised higher to Rs. 1,099. Customers would, however, be able to add 100 Off-Net Minutes, 2GB Main Volume, and 2GB Social Volume (1GB FB and 1GB WA) beginning June 29, 2022.

Telenor Pakistan reports that Telenor bundle pricing have been raised. With effect from June 22, 2022, the price of the EasyCard 500 has been reduced to Rs. 550. The EasyCard 650 price will be increased to Rs. 700 on June 29, 2022. With effect from June 29, the price of the Monthly Social Pack Plus will be reduced to Rs. 100.
