Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar is all set to adopt e-marking for matric and inter exams, planning to roll out conventional mechanical checking.
Chairman BISE, Peshawar Prof. Nasrullah Khan Yousafzai, has said that e-marking will be partially introduced in inter and matric exams that will be held in April and May respectively. Paper marking will be digitized completely next year.
The Chairman decided to add that e-marking will bring clarity into the procedure of paper checking and its results will be far more trustworthy and precise than routine ones.
He said that it will furthermore demonstrate to be expensive as teachers will not be required to visit schools and universities to mark papers, mentioning that they will be able to check papers anywhere at any time.
Last month, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) elected to hold class 9 exams there under Student Learning Outcome (SLO) System to discourage rote learning.
The ruling came after the conclusion of the two-day congress of the KP Boards’ Chairmen Committee (KPBCC) in which chiefs of all KP BISEs participated. The session was chaired by Chairman KPBCC, Prof Zamin Gul.
