Sindh’s School Education and Literacy Department (SELD) has given teachers one last warning to mark their attendance through Sindh School Daily Monitoring System (SSDMS).
SSDMS mobile app was released last March. One school in each of Sindh‘s 29 districts launched it simultaneously.
After 10 months, many teachers are still not using SSDMS, making it hard for authorities to track attendance.
From 16 January, SELD-noncompliant teachers must mark their attendance through the app. They’ll be disciplined otherwise.
On 16 March 2022, SELD and UNICEF launched the SSDMS mobile app. The app tracked SELD students, teachers, and staff attendance.
SSDMS, funded by the EU, sends SMS notifications to parents and teachers when students miss school.
