Eddie Brock transforms into Venom in a magnificent piece of Marvel Comics fan art that depicts the terrifying symbiote change he goes through when switching from hero to villain. On Reddit, artist nimo5877 posted their version on the Spider-Man-related character’s classic transformation from human to symbiote monster, as the artwork depicts Eddie Brock’s hideous transformation into his more menacing form, complete with tendrils.
Eddie Brock, created by David Michelinie and Todd McFarlane, originally appeared in Marvel Comics as a competitor photographer to Peter Parker. Brock attempted suicide after being dismissed from the Daily Globe and seeing his life crumble in front of his eyes, but instead came into touch with the symbiote Spider-Man brought back to Earth following the events of Secret Wars. Brock connected with the symbiote and took on the moniker Venom, immediately becoming one of Spider-most Man’s formidable adversaries. Brock and Venom, on the other hand, evolved into a more heroic partnership, fighting alongside the web-slinger while also serving as the main enemy in the King in Black storyline. Venom has made a number of live-action appearances, the most recent of which was in the film Venom.
On their Reddit account, artist and illustrator nimo5877 shared their take on Eddie Brock and Venom’s symbiote transformation. The image features a stoic and seemingly at peace Brock closing his eyes as the Venom symbiote forms around him. Venom’s disgusting teeth and tendrils are a sharp juxtaposition to Brock’s calmness in becoming Venom. The art takes a snapshot of the antihero mid-transformation as he’s not quite human, but not quite overcome by his symbiote. It’s a fascinating perspective.
