Due to the restricted personnel at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters, hardly no budget-related work was done on Tuesday.
Due to the ongoing budget planning exercise for 2022-23, visits are now prohibited.
Following his return from Doha, Chairman FBR Asim Ahmed resumed work at the FBR House on Tuesday. The chairman, on the other hand, was not scheduled for a meeting.
The FBR staff were unable to access the Board due to the closure of all routes leading to the D-Chowk near Parliament House. Because of the roadblocks, several FBR personnel were compelled to return to their homes.
Throughout the day, the Board did not have any internal meetings or meetings with stakeholders. On Wednesday, the situation may worsen.
Interestingly, the FBR avoids transfers and posts while preparing the yearly budget. On Tuesday, four BS-20 Customs officers were handed new postings, including the Collector, Collectorate of Customs, Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), Karachi; the Collector, Collectorate of Customs, Hyderabad; and the Collector, Collectorate of Customs, Gwadar.
