KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) set Friday (May 6) hours for all banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and microfinance institutions on Thursday.
The time for both public dealing and office hours has been altered, according to a notice issued in this respect.
On Friday (tomorrow), the SBP will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a prayer/lunch break from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
It said that all banks, DFIs, and MFBs must adhere to these business hours in word and spirit.
“Further, banks and MFBs may prescribe business (banking) hours for public dealing on the above May 6 as per their business requirements,” the statement read.
The central bank mentioned that the business (banking) hours for public dealing being observed by the field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBP-BSC) will be from 9 am to 1 pm (without break).
“It may be noted that instructions on regular office timings will be issued subsequently,” the central bank said.
