The Federal Board of Revenue has banned officers and officials from taking time off until June 30, 2022. This is to make sure that as many taxes as possible are collected during the last three months (April through June) of the current fiscal year.
For the current fiscal year, Rs. 6.1 trillion in taxes are due to be collected by the Federal Board of Revenue. With the OK of the FBR Chairman, the FBR sent out a circular about this on Wednesday.
Some field formations are still sending out leave requests for officers and officials, which is hurting FBR’s ability to reach its goals for the current fiscal year, the circular said.
In light of the above, it has been decided that FBR officers and officials won’t be able to take time off until June 30, 2022, unless they have to go on Hajj or are in a very hard situation. Officers and officials who have already been chosen and gotten NOCs can also take time off to study.
Leave requests sent to the right people at FBR (HQs) will only be looked at and approved in the above-mentioned situations until June 30, 2022.
The FBR told all field formations to strictly follow the instructions above and do what they could to help maximise revenue collection and meet revenue goals.
