Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, recently expressed in a Threads post that it’s time to move past Elon Musk’s playful cage fight ideas.
He mentioned that everyone can agree Elon is not being serious about it. Mark pointed out that Elon’s reluctance to confirm a date and his suggestion to have a practice round in Mark’s backyard indicate Elon’s unserious approach.
This came after a couple of screenshots of text messages between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk were shared on X (formerly known as Twitter). The thread revealed that Elon proposed a practice bout at Mark’s house for the upcoming week. In response, Mark told Elon that if he genuinely wants a real MMA fight, he should train on his own and inform Mark when he’s prepared to compete.

In June, the two CEOs agreed to a cage match, which initially sounded amusing. However, it has turned out to be tiring to keep up with, as Musk keeps making unsupported claims about the fight’s details and its beneficiaries. Whenever his claims are challenged, he delays things by announcing a surgery. On the other hand, Zuckerberg has consistently expressed his willingness to fight.
Zuckerberg had previously mentioned that if the fight was confirmed, he would be the one to announce it. So, there’s no need to dwell on this matter any longer, at least for now. The unpredictability of these two makes it hard to know what will actually happen.
