The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has granted authority to the Collector of the Collectorate of Customs (Appraisement), Taftan, to oversee all customs-related matters, such as exports, imports, and temporary imports, within the Civil Division of Rakhshan in Balochistan.
The FBR issued a notification on Wednesday outlining the powers and jurisdiction of the newly established Model Customs Collectorates.
As per the notification, the Collector of the Collectorate of Customs (Appraisement), Quetta, has been assigned the authority to handle customs matters, including exports, imports, and temporary imports (excluding anti-smuggling operations and transit trade) in Balochistan province. This jurisdiction excludes the Civil Quetta Divisions of Makran, Rakhshan, and the Civil Districts of Lasbella and Awaran.
The Chief Collector of Customs Balochistan, Custom House, Quetta, will be responsible for overseeing four collectorates: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement, Quetta; Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Quetta; Collectorate of Customs Appraisement Taftan, and Collectorate of Customs Gwadar.
Meanwhile, the Chief Collector of Customs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Custom House, Peshawar, will supervise the Collectorate of Customs Appraisement, Peshawar; Collectorate of Customs Appraisement, Kohat; Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Peshawar; and Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, D.I. Khan.
The Chief Collector of Customs Enforcement (South), Custom House, Karachi, has been entrusted with overseeing the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Custom House, Karachi; Collectorate of Customs Enforcement (Ports) Custom House, Karachi; Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Khuzdar; and Collectorate of Customs, Hyderabad.
Additionally, the Chief Collector of Customs Exports, Custom House, Karachi, will have the mandate to supervise the Collectorate of Customs (Exports), Custom House, Karachi; Collectorate of Customs (Exports), Port Qasim, Karachi; and Collectorate of Customs, Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, as per the notification.
