Google said on Tuesday that it would pay $5.4 billion in cash to purchase Mandiant, a renowned cyber security and response business.b
Mandiant will join Google Cloud when the transaction is completed.
Mandiant’s purchase will bolster Google Cloud’s current security capabilities, the firm stated in a statement.
“Organizations all around the globe are experiencing unprecedented cybersecurity problems as the complexity and intensity of attacks that were formerly only employed against large countries are now being used against businesses in every sector,” says the report, “Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said.

Google Cloud will now provide an end-to-end security operations suite with even more capabilities to serve clients across both cloud and on-premise systems, thanks to the integration of Mandiant.
Mandiant provides real-time and in-depth threat information obtained through working on the front lines of cybersecurity with the world’s leading companies.
