Prime Minister Imran Khan’s permission, the federal government increased the price of gasoline, diesel, and other items. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had already sent a brief outlining a plan to raise gasoline prices starting October 16th (today).
According to the finance ministry, the prime minister authorised an increase in petrol prices of Rs10.49 per litre. The new price of fuel is Rs137.79 a litre, following the huge rise.
The price of high-speed diesel has also increased by Rs12.44 per litre. The new high-speed diesel price has risen to Rs134.48 a litre.
After an increase of Rs10.95 per litre, the new price of kerosene oil has been set at Rs110.26. Furthermore, light diesel oil would cost Rs8.84 extra per litre, bringing the total price to Rs108.35 per litre.
The revised pricing are effective starting today (October 16) and will last for the next 15 days.
From October 1, the federal government hiked the price of fuel by Rs4 per litre.
