According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, the process of submitting applications for the government Hajj plan via banks is already ongoing, with 27,376 applications received so far.
The Ministry said on Wednesday that Hajj applications would be accepted on Friday.
Along with the Hajj application, a passport, health certificate, Saudi authorized vaccination certificate, and a token sum of fifty thousand rupees must be presented. According to the notification, foreign Pakistanis may surrender their passports till the 20th of Dhul Qa’dah.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has requested that private tour operators and individuals abstain from collecting money in advance from intended pilgrims.
In an exclusive interview with APP, the ministry’s spokesman, Muhammad Umar Butt, said that the government has not yet authorized any tour operator to accept funds or applications for this year’s Hajj.
He said that some private tour operators and people are engaged in collecting money after Hajj registration, which is completely unlawful and criminal behavior.
According to official sources, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony will begin receiving Hajj applications in the coming days via designated branches of scheduled banks.
Hajj Policy 2022 will unveil Hajj expenditures, age limitations, immunizations, and other terms and conditions in the near future. This year, Saudi Arabia has allocated 81,132 pilgrims to Pakistan to do Hajj.
Balloting, according to the sources, will be used to decide on ideas submitted by individuals or organizations. According to the announcement, Hajj quotas would be allocated 60:40 between public and private Hajj programs.
The Hajj, one of Islam’s five pillars, must be done at least once throughout the lifetime of each Muslim who can afford it. This year’s celebration drew around 2.5 million people, making it one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.
