ISLAMABAD: Finance and Revenue Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar said that the incumbent government was highly concerned about the well-being of the masses.
The minister said this in his meeting with United States Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome who called on him here on Wednesday.
The minister welcomed the US envoy and discussed the country’s deep-rooted historic and durable relations with the United States on economic and trade fronts.
During the meeting, the Finance Minister shared the government’s economic policies and priorities for addressing the challenging economic environment. The minister also stressed that the present government is highly concerned about the well-being of the masses therefore a number of measures are being undertaken in this regard.
Both leaders exchanged views on matters of common interest among other issues to enhance the existing bilateral relations between the two countries.
Dar informed the US Ambassador about the government’s pragmatic plans related to revenues and expenditures for fulfilling its national as well as international financial obligations. He shared various economic avenues through which both countries can further deepen their economic relations.
Ambassador Blome underscored that both countries enjoy healthy relations and expressed confidence in the policies and programmes of the government for economic sustainability and socio-economic uplift of the masses. He extended his support to further promote bilateral economic investment and trade relations between the two countries.
The minister thanked the US Ambassador and reiterated the desire of the government to further deepen bilateral trade and investment ties with the USA.
