Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace Prize winner, married Asser in Birmingham on Tuesday, according to the education campaigner, who announced the wedding on Twitter.
Malala described tying the wedding with Asser as “a lovely day” that she “honored with a little nikah ceremony.”
The activist appeals to everyone’s prayers for the success of her marriage.
“The day you are reading this is a special day in my life. Asser and I exchanged wedding vows, vowing to remain partners for the rest of our lives. We had a little nikkah ceremony in our house in Birmingham with our family, which was nice. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We are looking forward to walking beside one another on the path ahead “Malala penned a letter.
Additionally, Malala shared four images from the nikkah ceremony, in which she can be seen posing with her newlywed husband, Asser, as well as her parents, Ziauddin and Toor Pekai Yousafzai. Malala is the youngest of three daughters.
In honor of her special day, Malala donned a melon-pink gown embellished with gold embroidery. Her nikkah photographs were taken by Malin Fezehai, a friend who works as a photographer and visual journalist for the Jewish community.
Ziauddin was filled with happiness and thankfulness as he celebrated his daughter’s special day.
