Maqsood Chaprasi
Maqsood Chaprasi was the Sharif family’s famed servant. He was 48 years old when he passed away from a cardiac attack. Chaprasi was a resident of Dubai.
What caused his death?
Chaprasi was discovered deceased in his Dubai condo two days earlier. He was said to have died of a heart attack. There is, however, talk of foul play. Maqsood Chaprasi reportedly had marks on his hands, according to reports.
Dr. Rizwan, the previous Director of the FIA, is alleged to have died of heart arrest as well. In the Ramzan Sugar Mills case, he presided over the whole FIA probe of Shehbaz Sharif and his family.
Maqsood was named as a co-accused and a crucial role in the Rs16 billion money laundering case against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz.
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has mentioned Maqsood Chaprasi and the charges levied against him on many occasions. Imran Khan’s frequent mention of the event reignited the controversy about money laundering and the PML-alleged N’s participation.
It was discovered that approximately Rs. 25 billion in deposits were received in the bank accounts of several low-wage workers of the Sharif family’s Ramzan Sugar Mills Ltd and Al-Arabia Sugar Mills, as well as accounts of bogus firms set up and managed by the Sharif group, between 2008 and 2018. A total of Rs. 3.7 billion was received in the bank account of a peon, Malik Maqsood, and another Rs. 2.8 billion was received in the account of one Haji Naeem.
