Mark Zuckerberg’s personal fortune dropped by more than $6 billion in only a few hours as a result of the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp outage, pushing him down a rung on the list of the world’s richest people. Twitter, on the other hand, had a field day, ordering 59.6 million nuggets while CEO Jack Dorsey questioned “how much” it would cost to buy Facebook on the open market.
The firm said, “hey literally everyone,” from its official Twitter profile, inciting a cascade of memes, presumably as a jab at Zuckerberg. But, taking nothing personally, Instagram replied, “Hello and good Monday,” and WhatsApp reciprocated with a wave. Reddit pounced on the chance, asking, “How are you doing, Instagram social media manager?” in a tweet that openly promoted itself. “Could we advise the first page of Reddit if you have any, ahem, spare time?”
In the heat of the moment, trolls dug out the most hilarious memes and started sharing their love for Zuckerberg. “Mark Zuckerberg trying to fix the WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook crash,” shared a user with a photo of Zuckerberg’s face switched with an electrician’s.
Even our local celebs joined the cause. Actor Ayesha Omar quipped, “Haaaaan bhaeee. Who’s eating what and where? Who’s wearing what and where? Who’s liking what and why? Who said what to who? And then what was their reply? Tweet please. So I can feel normal again.” She then shared her day’s Insta photos on Twitter to feel ‘validated’. “Posting today’s Insta photos here. So I continue to feel validated,” wrote the starlet.
