ISLAMABAD: The country’s fuel price would stay steady at Rs149.86 per liter till March 31.
“Despite extraordinary price increases in the foreign market, the petroleum product prices will stay constant,” the statement added, citing the Prime Minister’s decision in the last weekly review.
Following the decision to maintain the rates, the government would incur an “additional cost” of Rs30 billion for the fortnight of March 16-31, according to the statement.
Petrol is now priced at Rs. 149.86 per liter, while diesel, kerosene oil, and light diesel are priced at Rs. 144.15, Rs. 125.56, and Rs. 118.31 per liter, respectively.
Following an increase in worldwide market prices at the time, the government authorized a record-breaking Rs. 12.03 per liter hike for petrol on February 15. Following that, on February 28, the government decreased POL prices by a flat Rs. 10 per liter, taking into account the country’s economic circumstances and worldwide difficulties.
