ISLAMABAD: Chairman Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad on Sunday announced that the Shawwal moon was not sighted anywhere in Pakistan and the Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on May 3, (Tuesday).
The zonal and district RHC meetings were also convened in their respective headquarters.
The central RHC committee will finally declare the ultimate verdict after gathering evidence from the Shawwal crescent.
The conference is attended by representatives from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Met Department, and SUPARCO.
The announcement made by the Punjab committee
Mufti Ramzan Sialvi of the Zonal Committee said that no proof of the Shawwal crescent has been uncovered in Punjab province, while the central RHC conference is taking place in the federal capital.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, according to Mufti Sialvi, would make the final pronouncement about the moon sighting.

The Karachi zonal committee said that no proof of the Shawwal moon sighting had been received, while the central RHC chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad would make the ultimate judgement.
