Twitter seems to be providing free advertising to brands that use its platform to market themselves. In an effort to recoup clients for its advertising business, the social media behemoth is providing free advertising.
For those who are unaware, Twitter, like other social media giants, relies heavily on advertising as a revenue source. The microblogging platform is now offering free marketing to brands in order to help its ad business, which has been in decline since Elon Musk’s acquisition of the company. In other words, the company is attempting to attract customers by providing a free advertising campaign that will match advertisers’ ad spending up to $250,000 USD.
According to the leaked emails, clients can obtain a full 500,000 US Dollar investment in advertising that must run by February 28th, 2023. However, Twitter has yet to respond to any comments on the subject. This initiative is essentially another step toward increasing its clients’ advertising expenses. The new ad campaign could also be used to deliver promoted tweets during Super Bowl week, which is a critical period for Twitter.
Clients typically spend more during Super Bowl week because it helps expand the respective brand’s reach. Twitter biggest revenue day of the year is also the Super Bowl. Many brands, including Pfizer, United Airlines, and automakers General Motors and Volkswagen, have recently stopped spending on Twitter. Similarly, 75 of the top 100 Twitter ad spenders reduced their spending as well.
