The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is now the heavyweight foldable phone to beat, and when the Z Fold 4 replaces it, it’ll likely grab a first place on our list of the best foldable phones – but Vivo is likely to be the next manufacturer to try to wiggle its way in.
The Vivo X Fold will be released on April 11, according to the business, which has been actively teasing the phone – in fact, it has shared two videos showcasing the impending foldable on the Chinese social media network Weibo, which you can view here and here.
The first video, which was the first to be shared, shows the phone’s exterior display before it begins to open. We can see something that looks like an alert slider in addition to a volume rocker and power button, so it’s conceivable the phone may receive one of those.
This seems to be an outwards-folding book-style foldable, similar to Samsung’s Z Folds, with a huge inner screen and a round camera bump containing four lenses.
You may expect a good-looking phone if you spend a lot of money on a smartphone, with stylish designs and fine materials utilized for top-end phones…
The Vivo X Fold, on the other hand, seems to be unique. The video displays a nice two-tone blue-and-black mobile with some shining accents, and it’s evident that the back is made of either leather or faux-leather (a non-animal-based alternative).
Vivo is clearly anxious to underline the fact that faux leather feels amazing to the touch, as seen by the slow shot of a finger caressing the X Fold’s back.
As a result, the Vivo X Fold might have a much more appealing design than previous folding phones, ditching glass or plastic in favor of a premium-feeling material and clever use of color to make the phone stand out.
Not everyone is concerned with how a phone appears; for others, phones are just communication, gaming, or photography gadgets. However, if you spend ‘foldable phone money’ – or a premium price – you should expect a stylish handset.
Of course, this is all based on a teaser, which is designed to pique interest in a phone, so the phone might be disappointing in real life – or, more likely, it will never reach our shores, as Vivo often unveils phones that will only be available in China.
