As the Russia-Ukraine conflict approaches its 50th day, US Vice President Joe Biden has said that Putin’s war in Ukraine amounted to genocide and accused Putin of attempting to eradicate the concept of being a Ukrainian.
Biden’s remarks come a day after Putin pledged to continue the military onslaught until its objectives were met. Meanwhile, Russian soldiers have shifted their emphasis to eastern Ukraine, where they are preparing for a big operation in Donbas.
Anita Anand, Canada’s Defence Minister, said on Thursday that up to 150 members of the Canadian Armed Forces would be sent to Poland on a humanitarian mission to assist Ukrainian refugees.
