Covington has reportedly told Miami officers thatĀ Masvidal punched him in the face twice, fracturing his left front tooth, as well as causing an abrasion to his wrist and damage to his watch outside the Papi Steak restaurant.

According to police documents obtained by TMZ, Covington told detectives that as he was leaving the Miami hotspot, Masvidal “went up to him from his left, and without notice, hit him with a closed fist two times in the face.”

The police report also states that Covington explained that one of the blows Masvidal threw hit him in his mouth, while the other landed in his left eye, and that the Miami, Florida-born fighter yelled at him “you shouldn’t have been talking about my kids.”
