The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a $5.6 million prize pool for the T20 World Cup on Sunday, with the winner team receiving $1.6 million.
“The champions of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will receive a $1.6 million winners’ cheque, while the runners-up will get half that amount,” the ICC stated in a statement.
The two losing semi-finalists will earn a reward of $400,000 apiece from the November 10 and 11 games, according to the statement.
Furthermore, according to the ICC’s announcement, teams who win round matches will be awarded additional prize money.
Teams will also get $40,000 if they win each match in the round one and super 12 stages, while teams that do not advance to the semi-finals will receive $70,000 in guaranteed money.
Furthermore, the announcement stated that teams who are ousted from the event in the first round will get a guaranteed participation reward of $40,000.

ICC announces a ‘drinks break.’
Aside from the prize money for the 2021 edition of the event, the ICC also announced that starting on October 17, a refreshments break would be held during each and every match played in the UAE and Oman.
According to the ICC, each innings will include a 2 minute and 30 second break in the middle, with sides having the option to have strategic talks at this time.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has changed its playing condition 11.5.1, which previously prohibited special refreshment breaks during innings of T20 international matches.
