Pakistan Shaheens have won the Emerging Asia Cup 2023 by defeating their rivals India A in the final, successfully defending their title.
The Men in Green had an amazing beginning with their openers, Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan, performing exceptionally well. Saim scored 59 runs, and Farhan scored 65 runs before being dismissed.
After a blistering start, Pakistan lost its way as they lost wickets at regular intervals . But a fine rebuild job by Tayyab Tahir, who hit a marvelous century, and Mubasir Khan, helped the Shaheens cross the 350 run mark.
In response, India began well in their batting, but the skilled Pakistani bowlers took control by taking wickets at regular intervals. Sufyan Muqeem took three wickets, while Arshad Iqbal and Mehran Mumtaz got a couple each, causing India’s batting lineup to collapse.
As a result, India was dismissed for 222 runs, leading to Pakistan’s impressive victory by a margin of 128 runs. This win marks Pakistan’s second consecutive Emerging Asia Cup title, with their previous victory in 2019 against Bangladesh. Overall, it’s Pakistan’s second title in the history of the Emerging Asia Cup.
